The Moneris MCP server applies that standard to commerce. It creates a secure connection between AI systems and Moneris APIs, giving AI tools a consistent way to interact with core commerce functions, including payments.

Instead of building custom integrations for each AI tool or use case, MCP provides one layer that works across platforms. This helps reduce fragmentation as the ecosystem evolves.

MCP is gaining traction as a common standard for connecting AI tools to external systems, and the Moneris MCP server is one of the first commerce focused implementations developed in Canada.

It's analogous a power grid and electrical outlets. The commerce capabilities are the grid.
