Promotional Offer November 2, 2026, to May 2, 2027.

 

General Eligibility Criteria and Terms

 

The promotional offer described below (“Offer”) is available from November 2, 2026, to May 2, 2027 (the “Offer Period”) and is available only to new merchants located in Canada who meet each of the following criteria (the “Eligibility Criteria”):

 

  1. The merchant is not an existing Moneris merchant and enters into a merchant agreement for credit and debit card processing (“Merchant Agreement”) with Moneris Solutions Corporation (“Moneris”) during the Offer Period. Moneris is under no obligation to approve a merchant for any services and reserves the right to determine a qualified merchant in accordance with its credit adjudication and other policies and procedures. Following satisfactory internal Moneris approval, merchants will be required to agree to, and agree to be bound by, the terms and conditions under the Merchant Agreement;

  2. The merchant has a Bank of Montreal ("BMO") personal or business bank account for the settlement of transaction proceeds and identifies, or has identified, BMO as their financial institution under the Merchant Agreement;

  3. The merchant obtains at least one eligible Moneris product or solution under the Merchant Agreement. All Moneris products and solutions are eligible unless otherwise communicated by Moneris (each, an “Eligible Product”);

  4. The merchant references a valid promotional code relating to this offer in connection with entering into a Merchant Agreement; and

  5. The following does not apply to the merchant: (i) the merchant currently participates in a merchant program for franchisees, trade associations, member associations or other buying groups; or (ii) the merchant was referred to Moneris by an Independent Sales Organization (ISO) or Independent Software Vendor (ISV).

Offer Details and Limitations

 

Limited-Time Activation Reward

 

Subject to the Eligibility Criteria and the additional conditions below, an eligible merchant may receive one (1) CAD $100 electronic digital gift card (the “Activation Reward”):

 

  • The merchant must enter into the Merchant Agreement during the first ninety (90) calendar days of the Offer Period (November 2, 2026 – February 1, 2027);
  • The merchant must activate an Eligible Product and process at least CAD $100 in eligible purchase transactions through Moneris;
  • The merchant must complete any enrolment or verification steps required by Moneris and provide accurate contact and merchant information for fulfilment;
  • The merchant’s Moneris account must be active and in good standing, and the merchant must not have initiated cancellation, when eligibility is verified and when the Activation Reward is fulfilled; and
  • The Activation Reward is limited to one (1) per eligible merchant, regardless of the number of locations, Merchant IDs, Eligible Products or Merchant Agreements associated with the same merchant entity, as determined by Moneris in its sole discretion.

Moneris will determine eligibility after validating the merchant’s account, enrolment information and eligible processing activity. The Activation Reward will be delivered electronically using the contact information provided by the merchant on the enrolment form. The electronic reward notification may take up to sixty (60) days from the date on which the merchant satisfies all applicable Activation Reward requirements and is confirmed as eligible by Moneris. The participating gift-card brands and available reward options may change without notice and are subject to availability and the applicable third-party provider terms.

The Activation Reward is subject to availability and any overall promotional or budget limit established by Moneris. The merchant may select one CAD $100 gift card from the participating gift-card brands made available through the electronic reward link. The participating brands and reward options are determined by the third-party reward provider and may change without notice.

The Activation Reward must be accepted through the electronic reward process and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, exchanged for cash or substituted by Moneris for another form of payment. The selected gift card is subject to the terms, conditions, expiry rules and use restrictions of the applicable gift-card issuer and third-party reward provider.

The merchant is responsible for ensuring that Moneris has a complete and accurate email address for electronic fulfilment. Moneris is not responsible for delayed or unsuccessful delivery resulting from an inaccurate, incomplete or inactive email address, email-filtering or security settings, or the merchant’s failure to access or act on the electronic reward notification.

If the merchant believes that the merchant has qualified for the Activation Reward but has not received the electronic reward notification within sixty (60) days after satisfying the applicable requirements, the merchant must contact Moneris using the support process communicated for the Offer. Moneris may require additional information to verify eligibility and delivery status before reissuing or otherwise resolving the reward.

Processing-Volume Rebate

Merchants that fulfill the Eligibility Criteria will receive the following, as determined by Moneris acting in its sole discretion:

 

  1. Moneris will apply a one-time rebate of up to CAD $1000 to the merchant’s bank account based on the merchant’s Visa and Mastercard credit card and Interac debit transaction volume (purchase transactions only) after the first 90 days of entering into a Merchant Agreement. Merchant must have an active Moneris account and not have initiated cancellation in order to receive the rebate. The rebate will be determined as follows:

    For clarity, the CAD $100 in eligible processing used to qualify for the Activation Reward will count toward the merchant’s transaction volume for the Processing-Volume Rebate, provided the transactions otherwise meet the requirements of this Offer.

    The Activation Reward and Processing-Volume Rebate are separate benefits. An eligible merchant may receive both benefits if all applicable requirements are satisfied.

    The Processing-Volume Rebate is limited to one (1) per eligible merchant, regardless of the number of locations, Merchant IDs, Eligible Products or Merchant Agreements associated with the same merchant entity, as determined by Moneris in its sole discretion.

  2. Pursuant to the terms of this Offer, the “Processing-Volume Rebate” means a rebate of up to CAD $1,000 that will be applied directly to the merchant’s settlement bank account after the merchant satisfies the applicable eligibility and processing requirements and Moneris completes its eligibility assessment.
  3. This rebate shall not constitute a cash refund or a cash disbursement.
  4. This rebate must be accepted as awarded and cannot be withdrawn, substituted, transferred, or exchanged for cash or other value.
  5. The Offer is limited to one (1) Activation Reward and one (1) Processing-Volume Rebate per eligible merchant. This limit applies regardless of the number of locations, Merchant IDs, Eligible Products or Merchant Agreements associated with the same merchant entity, as determined by Moneris in its sole discretion.
  6. If a merchant declines the offer option that is made by Moneris, Moneris will have no obligation to offer an alternative option.
  7. Moneris is under no obligation to approve a merchant for any services and reserves the right to determine a qualified merchant in accordance with its credit adjudication and other policies and procedures. Following satisfactory internal Moneris approval, merchants will be required to agree to, and agree to be bound by, the terms and conditions under the Merchant Agreement. The Offer is subject to change, withdrawal or cancellation at any time and is not valid or combinable with any other offer for Moneris payment processing services. If the Merchant Agreement is terminated prior to the expiry of its term, the merchant will pay Moneris the amount (or value) of the Offer it received. The merchant remains responsible for all other fees and payments in accordance with their Merchant Agreement, including applicable restocking fees.
  8. All applicable fees and charges in the Merchant Agreement apply throughout the Offer Period and thereafter.

 

Privacy and Electronic Fulfilment

 

Information collected in connection with the Offer will be used to administer the Offer, verify eligibility, fulfil benefits, prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, communicate with participating merchants and support reporting and reconciliation. Personal information will be handled in accordance with Moneris’s applicable privacy practices and notices.

 

Limitation of Liability

 

Moneris, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, promotion agencies, agents, successors, assigns and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the Offer, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. By participating in the Offer, the merchant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to such matters in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the incident upon which the claim or action is based. The merchant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Offer, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

 

By participating in the Offer, the merchant agrees to release and hold harmless Moneris and each of its parents, subsidiary, affiliate and related companies, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising or resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Offer or from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any item given in connection with the Offer.
