As Moneris celebrates its 20th year in business, we’re highlighting the incredible members of our team who have been here since the very beginning. Each month, we’ll feature an in-depth interview here on the blog and on our social accounts highlighting their unique Moneris experience over the years.
This month, meet Yves Delarosbil, a Manager, Gaming, Lottery and Continuous Improvement. He is in charge of contract administration for the gaming and lottery department at Moneris Field Services (MFS) and ensures that contracts are respected and develop partnerships with clients, as well as managing internal operations at MFS so that all departments involved can properly meet client needs (Loto-Québec and other clients). Yves is directly responsible for the research and development mandates of the engineering department, and offers technical support for Loto-Québec contracts.
For a year now, he has also taken on the task of continuous improvement. In this role, Yves gives support to the different departments of MFS in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, while applying the methods of Lean and Six Sigma in our operations.
I started out as a quality control technician and I worked on video lottery machines. After that, I was lucky enough to rise through the ranks at Moneris, thanks to continuing education, willingness, opportunities and the trust of my superiors. I am very proud of what I’ve managed to accomplish as a part of the Moneris family.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is to respect others by truly listening to them. As an employee and manager, respecting others is essential, especially for teamwork. It allows you to collaborate with your employees and completely utilize their knowledge and professionalism.
At Moneris, there are many growth opportunities, whether it be in your current job or a future one. Moneris greatly emphasizes employee development. It is important to take advantage of opportunities to attain the professional level that you desire. Many trainings are offered, and believe me when I say that they have helped me immensely in my career.
I would say that technology-wise, the industry has evolved rapidly. New technologies significantly help us to manage our operations and daily lives. Also, I believe that leadership has hugely evolved. We communicate, manage problematic situations and make decisions differently, and that’s for the better.
I feel quite motivated because I get to work with people who have the same desire to succeed as me. Whether it be internal projects or client projects, I enjoy working with a team of people who share the same values as me because it is motivating and rewarding.
The main reason would be the corporate values that employees commit to and live by every single day. Also, there are the many opportunities to grow in the company, whether in their current role or a future one. The opportunities are numerous, and Moneris encourages employees to find ways to improve themselves and offers the proper tools and training to help them do so.
Check back here next month when we spotlight another Moneris employee celebrating his or her 20th year with Moneris!
