  • In order for your standalone terminal(s) to start accepting higher value contactless transactions, you will be required to re-initialize it. Please refer to our Terminal Initialization Quick Reference Guide for step-by-step instructions.
  • While your point-of-sale (POS) solution should be utilizing the data from the Moneris initialization, if you use custom software or other applications to manage your business, you may need to contact your POS software solution provider or integrator. They may need to make modifications in order for your POS solution to accept the new contactless limits.
  • It is important to note that while the card brands have made these changes, the contactless limit is set by card issuers. Please note that each card issuer may set their own contactless thresholds for their cards. If a customer is unclear why they cannot tap up to $250 on their card, please advise them to contact their card issuer at the number on the back of their card.
