General Eligibility Criteria and Terms

This promotional offer (the “Offer”) is not transferable. In order to take advantage of this Offer and receive the 6-month fee waiver (“Waiver Period”) on the BookmarkTM Business Plan when you sign up with Moneris Solutions Corporation® (“Moneris”), you must complete your application for the Bookmark Business Plan and Moneris Online at moneris.com/getonlinewithrbc between July 17, 2020 and May 31, 2022 (“Offer Period”) and meet the eligibility criteria below.

The Offer is available only to merchants who:

  • Are existing or new Moneris merchants located in Canada that have, or enter into, a payment processing merchant agreement (the “Agreement”) with Moneris, which includes the acceptance of Interac®, Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express® (if eligible), JCB® (if eligible), UnionPay, Discover® and Diners Club International® (new Moneris merchants must enter the Agreement during the Offer Period to be eligible);
  • Use a Royal Bank of Canada® personal or business bank account for the settlement of transaction proceeds during the Offer Period and (identify, or have identified, Royal Bank of Canada as your financial institution at sign-up for Moneris payment processing services); and
  • Sign up for a Bookmark Business Plan through Moneris during the Offer Period using promo code RBCBOOK. 

Moneris is under no obligation to approve a merchant for any services and reserves the right to determine if a merchant qualifies in accordance with its credit adjudication and other policies and procedures. For new Moneris merchants, following satisfactory internal Moneris approval, merchants will be required to agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Agreement available online at www.moneris.com/caftc.

The Offer is not available to merchants who (i) currently participate in a merchant program for franchisees, trade associations, member associations or other buying groups, or (ii) have processed an aggregate Visa and Mastercard transaction volume of $2,500,000 CAD or greater in the preceding three (3) months.

Each merchant who qualifies for the Offer is only entitled to one Bookmark Business Plan fee waiver for the Offer Period per merchant ID. After the Waiver Period is over, the Bookmark Business Plan fee of $39.95 per month will automatically be charged, unless you contact Moneris to cancel the Plan at least 10 days prior to the expiry of the Waiver Period. You may cancel your Bookmark Business Plan at any time by contacting Moneris.

The Offer will be applied to your bill at sign-up. The maximum dollar value of the Offer is $239.70 over six (6) months. Transaction fees for payment processing as set out in your Agreement still apply. This Offer cannot be combined with other Moneris or Bookmark offers or applied retroactively to previous registrations and/or purchases.

Moneris and Royal Bank of Canada reserve the right to change, cancel, modify, or withdraw this Offer at any time, even after you have activated it. 


Limitations and Exclusions

Moneris and Bookmark Your Life Inc., and not RBC, is responsible for Moneris Online, the Bookmark Business Plan and the terms and conditions applicable to the Agreement and the Bookmark Business Plan.

Moneris and RBC, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, promotion agencies, agents, successors, assigns and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the Offer, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. By participating in the Offer, Merchant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to such matters in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the incident upon which the claim or action is based. Merchant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Offer, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

By participating in the Offer, Merchant agrees to release and hold harmless Moneris, RBC  and each of its parents, subsidiary, affiliate and related companies, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Offer or resulting directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any item given in connection with the Offer.
