Moneris Solutions Corporation (“Moneris”), one of North America’s largest processors of credit and debit card payments, announced today it is collaborating with Lavu Incorporated (“Lavu’”), a rapidly growing provider of POS solutions that run on iOS-based mobile devices, to offer integrated processing of EMV credit and debit card payments to restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, bars and other businesses in the U.S. and Canada that utilize Lavu’s feature-rich solutions.
Through this relationship, Lavu recently completed certification to Moneris’ Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) platform in both the U.S. and Canada, enabling Moneris to integrate processing of EMV credit and debit transactions into Lavu’s suite of innovative, user-friendly solutions. Now, Lavu clients have the added benefit of processing EMV payments directly through their Lavu solution and Moneris.
In addition, restaurant and foodservice operators in the U.S. can be prepared to accept EMV payments well ahead of the impending October 2015 liability shift of certain types of card fraud. In Canada, restaurant and foodservice operators will benefit from using Lavu’s flexible, scalable POS solutions enhanced with secure, reliable payment services from Moneris, Canada’s largest, most reputable payment processor.
Moneris is pleased to be working with Lavu to deliver a fully-integrated payment solution that supports EMV. As part of this collaboration, we’re working to ensure customers in the U.S. are able to make a successful transition to EMV while those in Canada can take advantage of Lavu’s innovative, feature-rich solutions."
Chris Lee, President, North American Strategic Partnerships & Emerging Markets at Moneris Solutions
With the increased adoption of mobile POS (mPOS) solutions, especially in the food service industry, it is becoming more important for providers to integrate payment capabilities into their offerings. Lavu’s EMV certification now ensures its customers are not only payment ready, but also offering the latest secure, convenient payment options.
Lavu is constantly focused on improving the customer and consumer experience and payment option flexibility is a great way to do that. As a leader in EMV deployment, management and integration, Moneris is a natural collaboration for us, especially in helping enable our customers to get ahead of the impending liability shift.”
Andy Lim, CEO at Lavu Inc.
