Promotional Offer June 6, 2022 to November 30, 2022
General Eligibility Criteria and Terms
* This promotional offer consists of the three components listed below (the “Offer”). In order to take advantage of this Offer, merchants must visit go.moneris.com/rbcwelcome and complete registration and payment solution selection and enter into an agreement with Moneris Solutions Corporation (“Moneris”) for Interac®, Visa®, and Mastercard®, payment processing services (the “Agreement”) between June 6, 2022 to November 30, 2022 (“Offer Period”).
The Offer is available only to the following merchants that:
- Are new Moneris® merchants (i.e. merchant that are not an existing Moneris merchant and have never had or controlled a business with a Moneris merchant account before);
- Are located in Canada;
- that rent device(s) from Moneris at the regular device rental fee; and
- have a bank account with the Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) linked to their Moneris account, and are referred to Moneris by RBC through the promotional code provided by RBC.
Moneris is under no obligation to approve a merchant for any services and reserves the right to determine a qualified merchant in accordance with its credit adjudication and other policies and procedures. Following satisfactory internal Moneris approval, merchants will be required to agree to, and agree to be bound by, the terms and conditions under the Agreement.
This Offer cannot be assigned, transferred , redeemed for cash or combined with other Moneris offers or applied retroactively to previous registrations and/or purchases, except as expressly permitted by Moneris.
Moneris and RBC reserve the right to change, cancel, modify, or withdraw this Offer at any time, even after you have activated it. Moneris, not RBC, is responsible for the terms and conditions applicable to this Offer and your discount, which are on this page. Moneris reserves the right to cancel, modify, or withdraw this offer at any time, even after you have activated it.
The Offer consists of the following components and the additional terms and conditions applicable to them:
- Device fee waiver
Moneris will waive the fees for an eligible device for three (3) months. The device subject to the three-month fee waiver (“Fee-Waived Device”) will be one of the following: Counter Top, Wireless, Long Range Device, Moneris Gateway, Moneris Go, PAYD Pro® OR PAYD Pro Plus®. Only one Fee-Waived Device per merchant. After the three-month fee waiver period is over, the monthly device fee as set out in your Agreement will automatically apply to the Fee-Waived Device. Merchants not interested in keeping the Fee-Waived Device must contact Moneris to remove or return the Fee-Waived Device at no charge.
The Offer will be applied to your bill at checkout after taxes. Limit of 1 Offer per merchant ID for each business registered during the Offer Period. The maximum dollar value of the Offer is $180 over three (3) months, which may not cover the full cost of the device rental fees. The Offer only applies on one device per merchant ID. This Offer may be combined with other Moneris offers. This Offer cannot be applied retroactively to previous registrations and/or purchases.
- Meet-or-beat Pricing
Merchant must provide Moneris with its Interac, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover® merchant processing statements for the one month. The rate comparison for Moneris’ offer will be based on any of the rates (as determined by Moneris) for comparable services as set out in the processing statements provided. Rates comparison excludes any one-time or activation fees, device rental fees, assessment fees or other event-driven fees. The comparison is valid as of the date statements from existing acquirer are provided by the merchant as compared to the offered Moneris rates. Merchants (i) currently participating in a merchant program for franchisees, trade associations, member associations or other buying groups, or (ii) that have processed an aggregate Visa® and Mastercard® transaction volume of $2,500,000 CAD or greater in the preceding three months, are not eligible for this Meet or Beat Rate offer.
- Gift Card Setup and Enhanced Reporting Fee Waiver
Offer applies to Moneris Gift Card Program orders placed during the Offer Period. To qualify for this offer, the merchant must be a party to and agreement with Moneris which contains the terms and conditions applicable to gift card orders and services (a “Moneris Gift Card Agreement”), and order a minimum of 200 gift cards per design as part of a single order during the Eligibility Period. Moneris will waive the eGift Card setup fee and apply a discount of 50% off enhanced reporting monthly fee (before taxes). In addition, Moneris will waive the physical (non-electronic) Gift Card and the Promotion setup fee the effective date of the Moneris Gift Card Agreement. To receive the full value of this offer, the merchant must use Moneris Gift Card services for at least one (1) month. The discount offer only applies to this single order and does not apply to any other applicable fees in the Moneris Gift Card Agreement or other Moneris agreements, including monthly fees, reload fees and artwork.
The Moneris Gift program may not be available on all Moneris Go terminals as of the start of the Offer Period. Provided that the Moneris Gift program is made commercially available to all Moneris Go terminals prior to May 31, 2022, the Gift portion of the offer will be made available to eligible merchants who accept the offer.
Limitations and Exclusions
Moneris, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, promotion agencies, agents, successors, assigns and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the Offer, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. By participating in the Offer, Merchant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to such matters in any forum beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the incident upon which the claim or action is based. Merchant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Offer, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.
By participating in the Offer, Merchant agrees to release and hold harmless Moneris and each of its parents, subsidiary, affiliate and related companies, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Offer or resulting directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any item given in connection with the Offer.
