Changing the Unlock Timer Value

The password unlock feature is defaulted to 15 minutes. This means that if you attempt to manually key in a card number on the terminal, then enter the manual entry password incorrectly four times in a row, the terminal will lock out manual card entry transactions for the next 15 minutes (it will produce the PASSWORD LOCKED CALL SERVICE CENTRE message). Follow these steps to change the unlock timer value.

  1. From the READY screen, press the Admin key twice, key in 22, and press the green key. The ENTER MAN ENT PSWD prompt appears.

  2. Key in the current password and press the green key.

  3. In the MAN ENT PSWD screen, scroll down and select UNLOCK TIMER, then press the green key. The AUTOMATIC UNLOCK TIME IN MINUTES prompt appears.

  4. Key in a new value (in minutes) and press the green key. The MAN ENT PSWD screen appears again.

  5. Press the red key to return to the GENERAL PARAMETERS menu.
