Transactions with MOTO Enabled

Note:  Even if Tip Entry is enabled, do not enter a tip during a MOTO transaction.  The tip will not be processed since the cardholder is presumed not to be present.

Note: In order to process mail order/telephone order transactions, the manual card entry password must be configured, the manual card entry must be enabled, and mail order/telephone order transactions must be enabled.

When the terminal prompts you to select either CARD PRESENT or CARD NOT PRSNT, do the following:

If cardholder is present...

If cardholder is NOT present...

  1. Select CARD PRESENT.  

  2. Go back to the transaction.

  1. Select CARD NOT PRSNT.
    The MOTO options appear.

  2. Select the type of MOTO transaction to be processed:

  • To process a one-time transaction, select SINGLE.

OR

  • To process a transaction that occurs on a regular basis (e.g. a monthly donation), select RECURRING.

OR

  • To process a transaction that occurs as part of a monthly payment plan, select INSTALLMENT.

OR

  • To process a different type of transaction, select OTHER.

  1. Continue the transaction.
