Using Contactless Cards

Note: The term "contactless card" used in this document includes other contactless form factors such as Key Fobs and Mobile Devices (i.e. apps on smartphones). These other form factors will function the same way as a more traditional contactless credit or debit card.

At the POS, a customer may tap a contactless card on the contactless reader instead of swiping or inserting the card into the terminal.

General Contactless Transaction Guidelines

Contactless transactions can be performed on the VIVOPay 500 contactless reader subject to the following conditions:

- Only Purchases and Refunds may be contactless.

- A valid contactless card must be used.

- The amount of the transaction must be equal to or less than the maximum Contactless Dollar Value (CDV) set for the card.

- At least one contactless program is included in your Moneris Merchant Agreement

The reader displays WELCOME/BONJOUR while in its idle state.
