In a recent fraud trend, clients have sustained losses due to the swapping of terminals.
If the device is ever taken out of your sight, when it is returned to you, check the following:

  • a. The serial number to ensure you have your own device
  • b. The sales/refunds in the terminal, to ensure that all activity is authorized.

If the device returned to you does not belong to you:

  • a. Call Moneris to have the stolen terminal deactivated immediately
  • b. Report the stolen device/activity to the police

Do not let the wireless POS device out of sight or leave unattended.
The merchant is responsible for all transactions processed through their terminal.
